LHYAC’s 2026 Día de los Muertos Days of Remembrance celebrations provide opportunities for community members to come together through art, culture, remembrance, and cultural education.
The celebration begins with Community Altar Open Hours from November 3–6, featuring three community-created offerings: a Community Altar, an Indigenous Ofrenda honoring ancestral traditions and the four sacred elements, and a Digital Community Altar welcoming participation from around the world.
The celebration culminates on Saturday, November 7 with a community event and movie night featuring Indigenous cultural education, Aztec/Mexica dance, live music, hands-on art workshops, face painting, altar activations, refreshments, and a screening of The Book of Life in LHYAC’s El Pueblo de Lincoln Heights Art Gallery.
Together, these activities create meaningful opportunities for community connection, remembrance, cultural empowerment, and pride through arts and culture.
