About The Event

Category: Performing & Visual Arts

Join us for refreshments and an engaging presentation written by Richard Platt and performed by Steve Smith as they showcase Henry David Thoreau, a philosopher and political ally for human rights. His essay, "Civil Disobedience", was one of the inspiring texts for Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. in their respective campaigns for civil rights.

This program is held as part of the Library's celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
