The Besos Jazz Trio, a San Diego–based ensemble, is known for its intimate, rhythm-driven approach to classic jazz.
Blending swing standards, Latin jazz, and soulful improvisation, the trio features Beston Barnett on guitar and vocals, Evona Wascinski on upright bass, and tap dancer Claudia Gomez as an integral musical voice. Gomez’s percussive footwork expands the traditional jazz trio format, functioning as both rhythm section and visual performance, adding a distinctive and captivating dimension to the group’s sound.
