Walk in style: learn how to make your own tote bag!

This summer, join the IDEA Lab and the Visions Museum of Textile Art for a creative textile arts series designed especially for teens!

Explore quilting, upcycling, sewing, and design while developing hands-on maker skills and expressing your creativity. Participants will learn the basics of quilting, transform materials through embellishment and upcycling, create an original tote bag, and contribute to a collaborative community quilt. Whether you're interested in fashion, art, sustainability, or simply trying something new, this series offers a fun and welcoming space to create, connect, and make something meaningful together. Attend a few classes or all of them!

Workshop Schedule
August 13—Finish your tote bag.
August 27—Finish the Malcolm X Community Quilt top and enjoy the work of your peers!

Visions Museum of Textile Art celebrates and advances contemporary quilting and textile art through exhibitions that explore cultural traditions, contemporary relevance, and innovative creativity.
