Learn how to create a conscious closet and reduce textile waste! Join I Love A Clean San Diego for the free Unraveling Fast Fashion: Stitching Together a Sustainable Future Workshop at the Dan McKinney YMCA on Wednesday, June 17 at 6 p.m.
This event features a panel Q&A with local experts in sustainable fashion and textile recycling, including representatives from Bridge Thrift, ReDenim, and Kornelija Art! We’ll cover topics such as:
* Textile recycling and upcycling ideas
* Low waste laundry habits
* Secondhand shopping tips
* The environmental impacts of fast fashion and how to avoid purchasing
Attendees can also participate in various textile upcycling activities: T-shirt bags, reusable dryer sheets, and natural textile dyeing facilitated by Sound as Color - get creative and upcycle food scraps into art on natural fiber clothing! Please bring a textile to dye - see FAQ section for details.
